Independent spared Rod

MediaGuardian is reporting today that Rod Liddle is no longer in the running to be editor of the Independent if/when it is sold to ex-KGB man Alexander Lebedev. There seems to have been more of an outcry about the possibility of Liddle editing the paper than Lebedev owning it.
